"Are we truly living in harmony with the gifts nature has given us?" Surely everyone has asked themselves similar questions at least once. As society is increasingly developing, the natural environment is shrinking to make room for reinforced concrete buildings. The lack of greenery spaces has given rise to alarming health problems that require effective solutions to overcome this pressing situation.

The project "Climate-adapted Material Research for the Socio-economic Context" (CAMaRSEC),funded by the German Government, aims to promote sustainable construction practices in Vietnam through interdisciplinary problem analysis, fundamental research, and the strategic development of a basic infrastructure for research, characterization, training and education.

“Housing is important for health and happiness.”

Urban infrastructure and greenery are fundamental elements for healthy housing and living conditions. Urban design needs to take into account the function and architecture of residential areas, form urban models and structures through the creation of green networks, along with creating a unique identity in designing and using urban structures. Green and water areas, which are components of design and use, provide space for physical activity, exercising and fresh air. This is the starting point of planning for beneficial living conditions.

In such context, the Handbook on Green Housing and Healthy Living has been developed with the support of the CAMaRSEC project funded by the German Government. With the effort to spread the concepts and practices of sustainable housing and healthy living to the public, the Handbook uses “non-technical” and “easy to understand” language, appropriate visual effects, and design to be reader-friendly.

With the desire to spread knowledge to the community, promote the development of the green building field, and help individuals in the community improve their living environment to be greener, more environmentally friendly, and sustainable, the GSC project is officially launching the series of articles "Green Housing - Sustainable Living.". A sequence of communication posts with core content from the CAMaRSEC project's Handbook on Green Housing and Healthy Living is expanded with more familiar and practical topics, promising to bring many useful ideas to readers.
